Thank you very much! I completely agree, this particular instance of challenging behaviour came from a place of fear and loss of control. I have seen the same patient again since, and in giving her the chance to vent, I got an easier (if longer-winded) side of here than my colleagues, and she said as much. She is afraid of how everything is going, of how much is changing, of going home... She feels decisions are being made for her and about her rather than with her. She feels she doesn't always have a say, and she is afraid of being a burden on her friends. Thank you so much for reading!
